To mark 50 years of Microsoft, Xbox has rolled out some free goodies for gamers using both consoles and PCs. As April 4 approaches, these items have been made available, offering a touch of nostalgia and celebration all at once.

On the digital side, fans can enjoy personalized touches like dynamic backgrounds and unique Gamerpics, allowing each player to tailor their experience. To celebrate Microsoft’s milestone anniversary, Xbox is offering a few new digital items for fans to enjoy.

The celebration includes fresh customization options, namely a dynamic background for the Xbox Series X/S, a fresh theme for the classic Microsoft Solitaire on Windows, some new profile themes with three nostalgic Gamerpics, and a special badge. These are available free of charge for Xbox and Windows users, except for the badge, which requires enrollment in the Xbox Insider Program. It might take a day or two for the badge to appear on user profiles.

The dynamic background nods to significant moments in Microsoft’s gaming history, featuring beloved characters like Halo’s Master Chief, Gears of War’s Marcus Fenix, and even the Dragonborn from Skyrim. Familiar icons such as Clippy, the classic Windows cursor, and the iconic floppy disk make their way into the new Gamerpics.
