We’re still in the dark about whether Overthrown will come with any achievements to unlock when it first hits the Game Preview program. However, one thing’s for sure: Xbox Game Pass will bring Overthrown to our screens this December. So, if you fancy mixing a little chaos with your city-building adventures, mark December 5 on your calendar — that’s when Overthrown makes its debut on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
In Overthrown, you’ll find yourself wielding a powerful, soul-stealing crown. This gives you some seriously awesome abilities like moving anything you see, racing across landscapes at lightning speeds, performing crazy spin attacks, and hurling objects far into the distance. Brimstone Interactive, the brains behind the game, shares on Xbox Wire that Overthrown is not your typical city-builder. Instead, it embraces chaos and allows you to play with anime-style superhero powers alongside up to five friends.
As you dream up and manage your perfect realm, you’ll also need to fend off bandits and mutants. Luckily, your crown’s powers can make this task a bit easier. But beware: losing the crown or having it stolen means you’ll face the daunting task of recovering it from a now formidable foe. If you’re playing with friends, only one of you can don the crown, so you might just become the envy of the group as you nonchalantly lift buildings and — wait for it — absorb trees!
All in all, Overthrown sounds like a recipe for delightful, chaotic co-op fun, and luckily, the wait isn’t much longer. In the meantime, if you’re hunting for more adventures to tide you over, why not check out our roundup of top Game Pass games?
