Hold onto your controllers, gamers—there’s some exciting buzz in the air from 2XKO! This month just kicked up a notch, thanks to some juicy tidbits popping up on social media. It’s not the release we crave just yet, but it’s a promising announcement of an upcoming development update video. We’re set to get a comprehensive briefing on changes to the game Jinx and the next Alpha Lab test, and that’s something to look forward to.
Who’s spilling the beans, you ask? None other than Mr. Ben Forbes, the editor-in-chief at 2XKO, who took to Twitter to share the latest scoop. He fired off, “We’ve just wrapped up filming the next 2XKO update! We’re knee-deep in editing, production, and localization, but here’s a sneak peek at what you can look forward to: an in-depth look at our gameplay tweaks since Alpha Lab 1 (Jinx included!), insights into Alpha Lab 2, and a showmatch featuring our dev team.”
The tweet went on, “This update goes deep, so expect a longer video—probably about an hour or so. We’re aiming to release it in the last week of March. As much as we’d love to host a snazzy PowerPoint livestream, we’re not quite there yet—but maybe someday…”
Before the excitement runs away with you, Ben did mention that there won’t be any new character reveals this round. So, it’s probably not the best idea to lay bets on unexpected surprises.
The story behind these updates trails back to last year when the 2XKO team left us hanging with a tantalizing “See you next year” message, promising fresh details in February. However, defying expectations, game director Shaun Rivera dashed to Twitter to share a few changes. The new year brings a new scope for the next Alpha Labs test and a fresh fuse for the game.
It seems internal timelines have done a little shuffle at Riot, bumping the expected February update to March. Nonetheless, with the game still on track for release this year, we’re eager for a deep dive into what’s being honed, what’s in the works, and where we might next catch a glimpse of 2XKO in action.
