Halfbrick Studios, teaming up with the original creator Ian Fitz, has finally brought out the much-anticipated sequel to their renowned boxing simulation game. If you’ve been waiting for The Thrill of the Fight 2, it’s now available for Quest users in Early Access mode.
This new installment is a complete reimagining of what made the original so popular, and now it’s live on a range of Quest devices, including the Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro. For fans of the classic version, this sequel introduces something many have been clamoring for: online player-versus-player (PvP) boxing.
Halfbrick Studios shared, “In this initial release, we’re focusing solely on multiplayer modes, so those eager to experience online bouts can dive in immediately.” They also mentioned that single-player content and enhancements to the multiplayer experience are in the works and will be rolled out progressively throughout the early access phase.
Looking ahead to 2025, the developers have plans to expand the game with single-player features. Expect competitive AI that reacts uniquely in matches, additional training modes, and more to enhance the gameplay. Throughout Early Access, players will see incremental updates aimed at enriching the immersive nature of the game.
Currently, players can enjoy creating their own unique avatars, engage in online PvP with skill-based matchmaking, and experience boxing through a realistic physics engine that the studio promises will deliver an authentic feel once more. Additionally, The Thrill of the Fight 2 includes a spectator camera feature, turning your matches into a sporting event, viewable through a connected PC.
For those eager to jump into the ring, The Thrill of the Fight 2 is available right now on the Horizon Store for just $10. If you’re ready to feel the adrenaline and excitement of boxing, this sequel is a must-try for any Quest owner.
