Retailers are already gearing up for the Nintendo Switch 2 launch by rolling out pre-orders for the long-awaited follow-up to Nintendo’s popular hybrid console.
Although the official price and allocation details remain under wraps, most stores are offering you a chance to get email alerts for when they officially open Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders. This way, you’ll be among the first to know once the pre-order chaos begins.
In North America, Best Buy has taken the lead, accepting notifications for both the United States and Canada. Meanwhile, ShopTo in the UK offers a neat twist: you can express your interest by paying a nominal fee of just one penny. However, they caution that pre-orders aren’t guaranteed with this method. Rest assured, though, if they can’t fulfill your order, that penny will make its way back to your pocket.
We’re all eagerly waiting for a specific date when pre-orders will become available, and it looks like we’ll have more clarity on that front soon. Nintendo has scheduled a special Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation for Wednesday, April 2, 2025. During this broadcast, Nintendo is set to reveal more juicy details about the new console, and many expect pre-orders to open shortly thereafter.
We’ll keep this post updated as more retailers open up opportunities for you to stake your claim, or when they officially kick off pre-orders. If you come across new updates, feel free to drop your discoveries in the comments!
