According to recent updates, NVIDIA has informed its board partners about a postponement for the RTX 5060 series GPUs, pushing their launch back by a few weeks.
As we edge closer to the debut of the GeForce RTX 5070, there’s been buzz about setbacks related to the RTX 5060 range. Initially, the plan was for these graphics cards to hit the market in March, with availability in April. However, the latest reports suggest that the timeline has been extended.
While the exact reasons for the delay remain unclear, Board Channels has evidently confirmed that all of NVIDIA’s board partners have received notifications about this change. Though not official yet, it seems plausible given that NVIDIA hasn’t formally discussed the RTX 5060 launch. Previous whispers suggested potential glitches and supply challenges causing these setbacks, but nothing has been confirmed by NVIDIA so far.
Here’s a statement from Board Channels: “NVIDIA has reached out to its AIC partners, alerting them via email about the delays concerning the RTX 5060 Ti / 5060 series. They’ve indicated that the RTX 5060 Ti (16G / 8G models) might be postponed to mid-April, while the RTX 5060 is slated for a mid-May release. Exact dates remain pending further updates from NVIDIA.”
It seems the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is now on track for a mid-April launch, with the GeForce RTX 5060 following a month later in mid-May. It’s anticipated that both variants of the RTX 5060 Ti will launch together. However, the specific launch dates are still under wraps, even for NVIDIA’s board partners.
Interestingly, these launch windows might overlap with AMD’s upcoming RX 9060 series, which includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models. These models, available in 8 GB and 16 GB variants, aim to compete directly with NVIDIA’s 8 GB and 16 GB offerings of the RTX 5060 Ti. AMD’s lineup is also speculated for a second-quarter release.
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is set to be NVIDIA’s follow-up to the RTX 4060 Ti. It’s expected to come equipped with 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 180W TDP. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060, slated to succeed the RTX 4060, will feature 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. There have been some leaks hinting at a potential 12 GB variant of the RTX 5060, though it’s not officially confirmed yet. This version, if real, could offer an edge over the RX 9060, which is anticipated to only have an 8 GB variant.
