It’s hard to believe, but Monster Hunter Wilds has been thrilling gamers on the PlayStation 5 for nearly a month now! We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all the hunters across the globe. Whether you’ve been tracking beasts for years or just embarked on your first hunt with Wilds, we hope you’re relishing each moment and diving into those High Rank hunts well past the game’s credits.
Today, we’re buzzing with excitement to reveal what’s on the horizon for Monster Hunter Wilds with our very first Free Title Update:
The mesmerizing Leviathan Mizutsune is gracing the Wilds with its presence. With a blend of beauty and danger, Mizutsune moves in a dance-like manner, launching attacks with its tricky bubbles. Get ready to gear up and face this returning creature for the first time in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Mizutsune also brings along chic new armor sets for both your hunter and Palico. You’ll also encounter an eight-star Tempered Mizutsune. To initiate the Mizutsune quest, head over to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp once you hit Hunter Rank 21 or higher.
Get ready to face Arch-tempered monsters as Rey Dau steps into the Event Quest arena. Until now, Tempered monsters have posed the greatest challenge in Monster Hunter Wilds. That will change with Free Title Update 1, introducing an even mightier Arch-tempered foe. HR 50 or above is your entry ticket to battle the Arch-tempered Rey Dau in the Event Quest debuting Tuesday, April 30.
New gear sets, Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma), will be yours to forge upon defeating Arch-tempered Rey Dau. Dust off your armor and hone your skills for this upcoming challenge.
Zoh Shia is making a glorious return to High Rank with Free Title Update 1. Previously limited to a single story mode appearance, Zoh Shia will now be available to battle numerous times. Starting April 4, players at HR 50 and above can embark on this quest again, this time available through the Environment Overview. You might also find Zoh Shia during the Wyvern’s Wakening in Wyveria Ruins.
You’ll get the opportunity to collect Zoh Shia materials, which can be used to craft new High Rank gear for both your hunter and Palico.
Welcome to the Grand Hub, a new social environment for hunters. Chat, team up for hunts, or partake in quirky activities exclusive to this place of gathering. Known as a sacred location for Suja folks, catch the Diva’s songs offered as prayers at night.
The Grand Hub hosts a new mini-game, Barrel Bowling. Roll barrel bombs into targets, score big, and earn handy items for your hunts. Get your hands on Barrel Bowling Vouchers through various methods, including login bonuses.
Felynes are laying out a marvelous spread for you at the Grand Hub. Join your fellow hunters for a feast and camaraderie at the community table.
Unlock the Grand Hub upon reaching Hunter Rank 16 by talking to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord. Once it’s open, your Squad Information Counter will move from the Windward Plains Base Camp to the Grand Hub, letting you manage your squad operations from there.
Arena Quests are making a comeback in Monster Hunter Wilds, with up to two hunters racing against the clock with preset gear to complete quests. Compare your times against a worldwide leaderboard available on the Expedition Record Board.
Delve into Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests—limited-time event quests that reward pendants upon completion. A special pendant may even land in your collection based on your time and global ranking. Like Arena Quests, Challenge Quests are for two players with specified gear limitations. Free Challenge Quests switch it up with no gear restrictions and up to four participants, including Support Hunters.
Switch up Alma’s look with the introduction of outfit options in the camp’s Appearance Menu. Complete specific side missions, and you can even swap out Alma’s glasses. Enjoy a complimentary Alma outfit, ready for you to experiment with.
Head over to PlayStation Store post Free Title Update 1 release for downloadable content, including a complimentary Alma outfit and classic Monster Hunter gestures. The Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will be available as a paid download, included in the Premium Deluxe Edition or available separately for those who purchased the Cosmetic DLC Pass.
From April 23 to May 7, experience the seasonal Festival of Accord: Blossomdance in the Grand Hub. This event will feature thematic decorations and food and the chance to earn exclusive equipment, gestures, and pop-up camp decor.
This wraps up the major highlights for our first Free Title Update. There will also be fixes and adjustments included. Keep your eyes peeled for another update in May, with a special collaboration with another Capcom title and additional features.
Free Title Update 2 is slated for release this summer, so keep an ear out for what’s next. Until then, savor this bite-sized teaser of what’s in store. Happy hunting!
