So, if you’ve been diving into Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, you probably know about those golden balls that play a central role in Goro Majima’s adventure. Yep, these aren’t metaphorical; they’re literal balls made of gold scattered across various ports, echoing the scavenger hunts in Like A Dragon: Gaiden. Players have been tasked with collecting all seven, but a pesky bug had been stopping some folks in their tracks. Thankfully, the issue has been patched up, so you can put down those tomatoes and hold off on unleashing Kiryu.
The fix is part of the game’s recent update, patch 1.12, rolled out by RGG today, March 7. The brief note on this states, "Fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained." Now, it’s intriguing—what exactly made the ball unattainable? Was it being pilfered by one of those treasure-lusting pirates that aren’t ex-Tojo Clan guys? We might never get the details, but what’s crucial is that the balls are back, to riff off Thin Lizzy, those elusive, wild balls are back in the game.
Now, turning to the other fixes in this patch:
- Resolved an issue preventing manual saves.
- Fixed a quirky bug where players, upon loading saved data on a ship, would fall into the sea—with no way back. (A tough break, but sounds amusing in hindsight.)
- Addressed the problem where arcade game rankings weren’t being saved.
- Corrected several typos and polished up some localization elements.
- Various additional tweaks to enhance stability and quality.
For PC enthusiasts, there are a couple of noteworthy adjustments: an update to Intel XeSS 2.0.1 and a fix for a rare crash during resource loading. If you’re having random driver crashes on certain NVIDIA GPUs, RGG advises setting your FPS cap to 60 in the settings.
If Pirate Yakuza hasn’t crossed your radar yet, check out my review of it. Just a heads-up, I do ponder if finding humor in middle-aged Japanese men showering indicates a lapse in my comedic sense.
