In a recent development, Seattle-based game studio Jar of Sparks has informed its team about a temporary halt in the progress of their debut project. The pause comes as the studio seeks a new publishing partner to support their venture.
Jerry Hook, the founder of the studio, shared the announcement on LinkedIn, expressing pride in the strides they’ve made with the game thus far. Established in July 2024 with backing from the Chinese entertainment powerhouse NetEase, the studio has now found itself without publishing support for its initial project.
“Through this journey, our team has been nothing short of passionate and daring, pushing the limits to craft something genuinely fresh and thrilling for the gaming world,” Hook expressed.
“As we gear up for what’s next, our talented team members will be on the lookout for new opportunities. If you’re in search of exceptional, innovative professionals, please get in touch. We’d love to connect you with some of the finest developers I’ve had the privilege to work alongside,” he added.
Interestingly, this marks the second instance of a NetEase-supported studio hitting pause recently. Back in November, Worlds Untold also stopped work on its inaugural project.
