As the Xbox Series X/S continues to evolve, Microsoft’s gaming platform is steadily building a solid library of titles. Generally, consoles hit their stride in the latter stages of their lifecycle, once developers can fully commit to creating games that leverage the power of current hardware, leaving cross-generation titles behind. The Xbox Series X/S hasn’t completely reached that point yet, but it’s making steady progress in that direction.
The past few years have blessed us with a bounty of impressive games, especially in the open-world arena. In 2022, we saw some standout titles like Elden Ring, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, each offering their unique twist. Fast forward to this past year, and the trend continued with exciting releases like Dead Space, Street Fighter 6, Hi-Fi Rush, Remnant 2, Forza Motorsport, and Lies of P. But what new Xbox releases can we look forward to, particularly in 2024?
I should point out that we’re focusing on the North American release dates for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One games, and you’ll even find expansions in the mix.
Updated on November 27, 2024: As we edge closer to the year’s end, the blitz of new game announcements has dialed down, especially those slated for 2024. Nevertheless, a handful of upcoming Xbox games have made their way onto the calendar, including titles like Railroads Online, Road Maintenance Simulator 2 – Winter Services, Hunting Simulator 3, and others like Glitch Hero, Penguin’s Road, Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop, Love Too Easily, and Beat the Machine: Rebooted.
