We’ve been thrilled to watch the Xbox app’s journey on Windows PC over the past year, especially as player support and involvement have surged. Today, we have exciting news: the enhanced Home experience, which has been in testing with Xbox Insiders, is now available to everyone on the Xbox app for Windows. This update is designed to streamline your search for beloved games and introduce you to new ones more effortlessly than ever.
The revamped Home is your gateway to staying updated with the latest in gaming. It showcases featured content, ensuring you’re always in the loop with game releases, fresh events, Game Pass additions, and even sales. Also, you’ll find curated collections, tailored recommendations, and enticing deals. Plus, the “Jump back in” feature in Compact Mode lets you dive straight back into the action with just a click from any game’s hub.
While a lot of players turn to the app to discover and jump into fantastic titles offered by Game Pass, it’s also becoming an indispensable resource for finding remarkable Xbox games outside the Game Pass lineup.
Earlier this summer, we teamed up with partners to integrate all PC games that boast Xbox features into the app. We’re buzzing with excitement about the future rollouts of these Xbox games on Windows PC from game developers. Nearly 400 titles, previously tough to find or buy through the app, are now ready to be explored.
The list includes a treasure trove of games like those from the experienced Japanese developers Kemco and Kairosoft, alongside gems like Shovel Knight Treasure Trove by Yacht Club, Jackbox Party Pack, and The Invincible by Double 11, just to name a few.
What’s even better is that more than 100 of these newly introduced games support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means that when you purchase an Xbox console version, you also get access to the PC version, and vice versa. Having universal Xbox ownership, seamless cloud saves, and cross-play between console and PC (and potentially other platforms), when allowed by the developer, are features that gamers truly appreciate.
As the category of Windows handheld gaming continues to expand, this offers developers an excellent opportunity to connect with both current and future players. It ensures that players enjoy the flexibility to play the games they love, with friends, wherever they wish.
