While there’s no official announcement yet, it’s pretty much a given that Black Myth: Wukong DLC is on the horizon. The exact release date remains under wraps, but a hint from the game’s director, Feng Ji, suggests it might drop sooner rather than later.
### When Could The Black Myth: Wukong DLC Be Released?
According to Insider Gaming, the buzz about new DLC for Black Myth: Wukong kicked off at the Golden Joysticks Awards. During the acceptance speech for Game of the Year, Feng Ji teased, “there might just be some surprises waiting for you later this year.” This hint strongly suggests that fans could see fresh content for this blockbuster title before the year’s out.
There’s a chance Ji could be referencing the upcoming Xbox launch of Black Myth: Wukong. However, his remark, “you [players] might have already completed our game,” points directly to those who have conquered this critically acclaimed title. This “surprise” seems directed at the dedicated fans who have seen it through to the end.
With The Game Awards on the near horizon, it’s quite plausible that Ji is setting the stage for a big reveal at the event. It would be an ideal platform to showcase the Black Myth: Wukong DLC, especially since the game is up for several nominations, including Game of the Year.
Black Myth: Wukong has arguably been a standout performer in the gaming world this year. Available on PS5 and PC, the game has sold more than 20 million copies since it debuted in August. Although it has slipped in rankings since launch, it still remains one of the most downloaded games on PS5. Even Sony has acknowledged the action RPG’s role in the surge of third-party software sales this year.
For those subscribed to PS Plus Premium and eager to try out Black Myth: Wukong, there’s some good news. A two-hour trial is currently available, offering plenty of time for players to decide if Game Science’s RPG is worth the investment.
