Diablo 4’s Season 8, titled “Belial’s Return,” is launching this week and reintroduces the notorious adversary from Diablo 3, Belial, known as the Lord of Lies. Players will not only face off against this formidable foe but will also gain access to unique abilities inspired by some of the series’ most iconic bosses.
For those eager to jump into the action, the new season kicks off at 10 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, April 29. No matter where you are in the world, the update will be available simultaneously across PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. Blizzard has laid out a roadmap for Diablo 4, indicating that Season 8 will run until around July, when Season 9, dubbed “Sins of the Horadrim,” is expected to start.
Season 8 offers an exciting focus on taking down bosses and seizing their powers. Players can look forward to harnessing abilities like the chest beam from Wandering Death, among others. Belial’s reappearance introduces a fresh world event called Apparition Incursions, featuring ghostly figures that players must defeat. He will also serve as a new endgame boss, joining a roster of powerful foes.
Additionally, players who own the Vessel of Hatred expansion can challenge several Lair Bosses to secure enhanced loot throughout the season. Beyond these engaging battles, Blizzard is introducing new cosmetic items with a nod to the world of Berserk—whether you choose to unlock them or purchase them, they add a unique flair to your character. Completing the Season Journey this season will also reward you with an unusual pet: Iris, a hairless cat covered in eerie eyes.
Blizzard is also revamping the battle pass with the innovative “Reliquary system.” Rather than a straightforward progression, this system divides the battle pass into four main categories, allowing for a more flexible advancement. Look out for the special Event Reliquary section for Berserk, going live on May 6 and running through June 3.
