Just as the TV adaptation of the popular series makes its debut, Sony and Naughty Dog dropped a surprise for fans: The Last of Us Complete. This release brings both Part 1 and Part 2 together, now available for the PS5.
Could This Be the End of The Last of Us Series?
For those who have managed to secure a PS5 and haven’t yet delved into this series, The Last of Us Complete is now available for digital purchase on the PlayStation Store, priced at $99.99. This package includes both games and their additional content, such as the Left Behind prequel from Part 1 and the Lost Levels from Part 2.
Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann shared some insights on the PlayStation Blog, stating, “We’ve revamped Part I completely for the PS5, enhancing it with DualSense support and 3D audio, among other features. As for Part II Remastered, it’s enriched with extras like Lost Levels, a No Return mode, and Guitar Free Play, alongside behind-the-scenes commentary.”
Collectors, there’s something for you too—a physical version of The Last of Us Complete is slated for a July 10 release. You can preorder this exclusive edition via PlayStation Direct. Here’s a rundown of what you’ll find in the physical Collector’s Edition:
- A Steelbook® Case containing disc versions of The Last of Us Part I and Part II Remastered
- The Left Behind prequel chapter
- A complete set of The Last of Us: American Dreams Comics #1-#4, featuring fresh cover art
- Four lithographic art prints
- A Thank You letter from Neil Druckmann
Fans are left speculating if this marks the finale for The Last of Us. Druckmann has hinted, “Don’t count on more.” With the new complete edition seemingly tying up the story, it’s possible that Naughty Dog might be wrapping up this franchise, at least for now.
