Wooper fans, rejoice! Build-a-Bear has teamed up with Pokémon once again to bring the lovable Water/Ground-type Wooper into their growing collection of plush toys. This ongoing collaboration shows no sign of slowing down, consistently adding new Pokémon characters for fans to adore.
So far, Build-a-Bear has introduced over 40 Pokémon plush collaborations, celebrating its 10th anniversary later this year. Initially focusing on Pokémon from the earlier generations, including several Eeveelutions, the collection eventually took inspiration from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Now, they’re bringing the spotlight back to the nostalgic Gen 2, featuring Pokémon that made their debut in Pokémon Gold and Silver.
For Wooper enthusiasts, the Gen 2 Water Fish Pokémon is now available as a Build-a-Bear plush. While there are numerous Pokémon plushes out there, Build-a-Bear’s unique selection of wearable accessories and a sound chip make their options stand out. Wooper, for instance, can sport adorable swimming goggles and a pink pool floatie with a Pokéball design. Additionally, it features a 5-in-1 sound chip to replicate some of Wooper’s signature cries. The whole bundle is priced at $62.50 and comes with all these delightful accessories.
Want to get your hands on this Wooper plush? It’s only available as an online bundle, with a purchase limit of five per customer to prevent scalping and ensure more fans can enjoy it. While home delivery is an option, some might prefer checking their local Build-a-Bear store for in-store pick-up. Just remember, in the past, some Pokémon Build-a-Bears have been discontinued, so Wooper might not stick around forever.
Although Wooper itself hasn’t changed drastically over the years, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet introduced a twist with the Paldean Wooper. This version retains the beloved design while tweaking features like the gills, body markings, and switching the color from blue to brown. Unfortunately, the Paldean Wooper isn’t part of the Build-a-Bear lineup, but the original Wooper design remains a fan favorite.
