Cards & Tankards, a popular free-to-play social VR card game, is gearing up to release an exciting new expansion later this month.
Created by Divergent Realities, Cards & Tankards blends social interaction with collectible card gameplay, making it accessible on both traditional platforms and VR headsets. The studio recently announced that the expansion, titled ‘Ashes of Ur-Enku,’ will bring a host of new content, including 50 fresh cards, diamond animated variants, numerous new cosmetic options, an updated season pass, balancing tweaks, and rank resets.
The studio offers a glimpse into the expansion’s narrative: “Set amidst the wild landscapes of Ur-Enku, players will follow the Plundering Guild as they embark on a bold, forbidden mission to hunt fire. This dangerous journey reveals long-buried Dwarven archives hidden under years of untamed wilderness. These documents reveal ancient experiments with Aether, an immensely powerful core element—though, tragically, only one brave explorer will return.”
Since its launch nearly two years back, Cards & Tankards has seen a plethora of updates. The latest, from December, Version 2.4, focused on extensive fixes, while Version 2.3 rebalanced more than half of the game’s existing card roster. A previous highlight in March was the ‘Crusade of Sun & Stone’ expansion, and the late 2023 addition of a ‘Ranked Mode.’
Currently, Cards & Tankards can be enjoyed on the Meta Quest platform, Steam, and Google Play. Fans can look forward to diving into the new Ashes of Ur-Enku expansion when it becomes available on March 27.
