As Destiny 2 gears up for significant changes, Bungie introduces Heresy as the final Episode in anticipation of upcoming content with Frontiers. Heresy has already made a positive impact on the game, and according to Bungie’s latest livestream, there’s a lot more excitement in store. This includes the Guardian Games with a fresh boss-rush mode, the Court of Blades activity on the Dreadnaught, and even a new PvP mode alongside Destiny 2’s Rite of the Nine event. March 11 marks an important day for these updates, promising an exciting future for the game.
The first Act of Heresy has successfully engaged the player base, leading to the release of the usual Moments of Triumph mini-event for players to explore before new content arrives. As Act 1 wraps up, players can look forward to the thrilling content of Heresy Act 2, set to release in just a few days.
With Act 2, players can anticipate a significant expansion of features, will include:
– New story missions that delve into the “whispers that players hear from beyond the veil,” likely involving Eris Morn.
– The Court of Blades activity, which introduces roguelike modifiers reminiscent of those found in The Nether.
– Five new weapons: Anamnesis (Void Bow), Mirror Imago (Strand SMG), Refusal of the Call (Strand Glaive), Division (Arc Sidearm), and Afterlight (Void Fusion Rifle).
– Two Exotic Catalysts for the Barrow-Dyad SMG.
– A fresh column of Artifact mods, including Overload Trace Rifles, Beam Medic, Elemental Siphon, Harsh Refraction, and Limit Break.
– The Guardian Games event brings new weapons, armor, and a boss-rush mode to the table.
Focusing on gameplay, Heresy Act 2 is shaping up to be a fantastic update. The Court of Blades draws inspiration from the Court of Oryx but offers a faster gameplay loop compared to The Nether, emphasizing enemy slaying for rewards. This is a refreshing shift in pace.
Moreover, Destiny 2’s Heresy weapons expand with five new entries, each promising standout features. Notably, the Refusal of the Call glaive emerges as the game’s first Strand glaive, boasting incredible perk combinations such as Replenishing Aegis and Sword Logic. Players will also access the initial pair of four Exotic Catalysts for the Barrow-Dyad, with Target Lock providing a substantial damage boost.
The five new Artifact mods present a substantial advantage, enhancing existing powerful builds within the game. Arc Warlocks, in particular, benefit from an overpowered build in Heresy, leveraging Geomag Stabilizers for increased Super Energy and enhanced Chaos Reach damage. This synergizes well with Coldheart as a trace rifle, thanks to its innate ability to generate Ionic Traces. This can further benefit from Beam Medic to heal via kills and Harsh Refraction for increased Coldheart damage, alongside Limit Break’s Super damage amplification.
Wrapping up Act 2, players can immerse themselves in the Guardian Games, a competition across all three classes. Alongside past editions’ loot, this year’s event introduces an Arc trace rifle named Keraunios, capable of receiving impressive perks such as the new Detonator Beam. Notably, Guardian Games 2025 will highlight a boss-rush mode reminiscent of Destiny 2’s Pantheon, potentially becoming a massive hit among players.
