With the October 2024 update for Destiny 2, known as Episode: Revenant, Bungie has made it easier for players to see which activities are highlighted each week by adding icons to the map. Now, players can enjoy two featured raids and two dungeons weekly. However, the game still doesn’t provide a schedule for upcoming featured events.
In this guide, we’re diving into the significance of these featured raids and dungeons and offering a handy schedule for the current week’s highlighted activity. Every Tuesday, as Destiny 2 resets for the week, these activities will shuffle, adding a fresh dynamic to the game.
### Destiny 2’s Raid Lineup for the Week
Each week brings in two featured raids on a rolling schedule. Notably, Salvation’s Edge, the newest raid, isn’t part of the current lineup. It will join the rotation only after a new raid is introduced.
As of now, Heresy’s exact pattern of rotation remains a mystery, but we’re keeping track of previous featured raids for reference.
### Dungeon Lineup for Destiny 2 This Week
Similarly, two dungeons take the spotlight each week, following a recurring order. However, the new dungeon, Sundered Doctrine, remains outside this rotation until a replacement dungeon comes along.
Like the raids, Heresy’s dungeon pattern hasn’t been locked in yet. We also continue to document past featured dungeons for continuity.
### Why Featured Raids and Dungeons Matter
Destiny 2 is packed with various activities that rotate, but raids and dungeons are the pinnacle of endgame challenges. For newcomers, raids are formidable six-player missions touted as the game’s most challenging content. Dungeons, while slightly less complex, require only three Guardians and can even be tackled solo with practice.
When a raid or dungeon is featured, there’s an exciting bonus: completing it nets you a Pinnacle Power loot piece, and you can replay encounters for more loot chances. Take the Last Wish raid, for example. Featured weeks allow repeat encounters, giving you multiple attempts to score that elusive weapon pattern you’ve been eyeing. This is a major change from standard weeks, where activities usually drop loot just once.
Remember, the roster of featured raids and dungeons switches up every Tuesday. One important thing to note is that the game’s most recent raid and dungeon won’t be featured, though they still provide pinnacle gear weekly.
