Take-Two Interactive has hinted at future plans involving the Nintendo Switch 2, signaling interest but holding off on detailed announcements for now.
This well-known publisher has a history with the original versatile console, delivering titles like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection. They’ve also launched Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, and more recently, NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on the platform.
In a conversation about Take-Two’s earnings for the third quarter of 2025, CEO Strauss Zelnick elaborated on their connection with Nintendo, saying, “We’ve enjoyed a productive relationship with Nintendo over the years. We’ve chosen to support their platform when it aligned with our release strategies. There was an era when Nintendo’s consoles predominantly catered to a younger demographic, which influenced our offerings at the time.”
Zelnick continued, “Nowadays, with the Switch and likely with the Switch 2, the audience is much broader. For instance, we’ve just launched Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on the Switch. While I can’t provide specifics right now, we anticipate continuing our support for the Switch [2].”
Nintendo fans can look forward to more insights about the next console during a special broadcast: the Nintendo Direct for Nintendo Switch 2. Tune in on Wednesday, April 2, at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST / 3 PM CEST for all the updates.
As for the Nintendo Switch 2, a global release is set for 2025, though the precise date remains under wraps.
