ASRock has taken steps to address the widespread issues faced by AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D users, rolling out a new BIOS update aimed at tackling CPU failures for those systems still in good health.
ASRock has swiftly reacted to widespread complaints about the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs by launching a BIOS update, potentially resolving issues that enthusiasts have been facing. Funnily enough, while this update is intended to fix random boot problems and error codes, the company hasn’t outright mentioned any direct link to CPU failures. It seems ASRock isn’t ready to shoulder any blame for CPUs that appeared dead on arrival.
In a recent statement, a representative for ASRock, known globally for their expertise in motherboards, graphics cards, and a range of gaming equipment, pointed out issues encountered by users, particularly on Reddit. These users reported unexpected boot troubles when running ASRock AM5 motherboards with the AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors. To tackle these inconveniences and improve user satisfaction, ASRock released the latest 3.20 Beta BIOS update for its AM5 series, aimed at enhancing the functionality of the AMD Ryzen™ 9000 series processors.
Just a heads up, yesterday we highlighted reports from numerous Reddit users who’ve had abrupt crashes or complete failures while using the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU. Some of these issues crop up immediately on first boot, while others surface after several days or weeks, suggesting the timing of the problem is pretty unpredictable. Interestingly, this isn’t a problem limited to one specific motherboard brand, though ASRock’s models seem to be mentioned quite frequently in these accounts.
ASRock Japan made a statement that the CPU issues are linked to memory compatibility rather than a flaw in the processor architecture itself. However, we’ve yet to see AMD release any official confirmation to support this claim, which makes the situation a bit murky. Until then, if you’re dealing with these hiccups, it’s wise to follow the guidelines provided by your motherboard manufacturer.
