Hisashi Koinuma Appointed as Koei Tecmo’s New CEO

Koei Tecmo, the renowned Japanese gaming company, has unveiled its new leadership with the appointment of Hisashi Koinuma as CEO. He is set to officially take on this role beginning April 1, 2025. Koinuma brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously served as the chief operating officer and spearheaded the company’s entertainment division as president and general manager.

In a strategic move, the company is undergoing a structural transformation by dividing its operations into two distinct entities: Koei Tecmo Games and Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance. This change is rooted in their ambition. “Our goal is to establish ourselves as the world’s leading digital entertainment company, guided by our core values of ‘creativity and contribution’,” Koei Tecmo conveyed to its shareholders.

The company emphasized its careful planning for this transition, which involved thorough discussions within the Nomination and Compensation Committee. “To foster further growth and enhance our profitability,” they said, “we are introducing a new management framework as we enter the fiscal year 2025.”
