In recent days, numerous accounts have surfaced about GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs ceasing to function, prompting NVIDIA to take a closer look.
NVIDIA Investigates RTX 5090 and RTX 5090D Malfunctions
The tech world has been buzzing with reports of both RTX 5090 and RTX 5090D GPUs, known notably in China, experiencing severe issues, commonly referred to as "bricking." Users have been scrambling to find solutions, but most attempts have been unsuccessful.
Though a handful of users claim success with unconventional fixes, the overwhelming majority continue to struggle. According to PC Gamer, NVIDIA has acknowledged the situation, stating:
"We are investigating the reported issues with the RTX 50 series."
While details remain scarce at this point, NVIDIA’s acknowledgment signifies a step towards addressing the dilemma. For those unfamiliar, the issue seems to arise when the drivers are updated, leading to graphics cards being unable to display anything more than a black screen on monitors.
This problem has been widespread, appearing consistently across reports, and persists even when users revert to previous driver versions. Surprisingly, attempts like resetting the BIOS have been futile, leaving these graphics cards invisible in both Device Manager and BIOS settings.
The exact cause remains a mystery, with some speculating architectural or compatibility issues with the driver, rather than a hardware fault. Until NVIDIA releases more detailed findings or solutions, the permanent fix remains elusive.
