Intel has officially confirmed that the long-awaited unveiling of its next-gen Arc Battlemage GPU line is set for a showcase on December 3rd.
With the showcase just around the corner, Intel plans to reveal a limited number of new “Battlemage” SKUs, possibly the Arc B580 and B570 GPUs. Initially, the tech giant aimed to launch these new graphics cards in early 2025, but the timeline has been brought forward to December—a move that’s certainly intriguing.
The announcement hasn’t spilled all the beans about the event just yet. However, it’s pretty likely we’ll see Intel taking the covers off their new Arc “Battlemage” B580 and B570 SKUs. The Arc Battlemage B580, for instance, is poised to pack 160 Compute Units, or roughly 20 Xe Cores, along with 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM running on a 192-bit memory bus. This setup is aimed at carving a niche in the mid-tier market segment, offering what’s speculated to be a 2.8 GHz max boost clock, powered by two 8-pin connectors. Pricing is anticipated to hover around the $250-$260 mark.
Here’s a quick look at what we know about the Arc Battlemage B580:
– 12GB 192-bit GDDR6
– Battlemage BMG-G21 GPU with 20 Xe Cores
– Intel Xe2-HPG Architecture
– Max boost clocks at 2850 MHz
– Support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (Intel XeSS)
– Features Intel Xe Matrix Extensions (Intel XMX)
As for the Arc B570, details remain somewhat vague. It’s expected to perform similarly to the B580 but likely with variations in its Xe core counts. Intel initially hinted at launching just two SKUs, but they might roll out more options in response to market demands. Notably, there will be a “Limited Edition” model of the Arc Battlemage B580, prioritizing it for review embargoes as well.
Beyond the new hardware, we can look forward to a comprehensive update on Intel’s “Battlemage” discrete GPUs and the company’s plans in this segment of the PC industry. Stick around for more updates on Intel’s Battlemage desktop GPU series.
