Overall, I’ve had a remarkably smooth experience with Dragon Age: The Veilguard—it’s been a top-notch release without many hiccups. However, as they say, nobody’s perfect. The latest update for Veilguard has managed to tackle two pesky issues that were on my radar.
Firstly, there’s a new feature that allows gamers to compare freshly discovered rings against both equipped slots. As someone who’s only halfway through this epic adventure, where collecting and equipping items is a big part of the fun, this is fantastic. Just like in many RPGs, your character in Veilguard can wear multiple rings, each offering unique magical benefits. But until now, you could only compare a new ring to one of the rings you were already wearing at a time. Frustrating, right? Thankfully, that’s no longer a problem!
Now, onto the second update, which I’m equally thrilled about: They’ve fixed those moments where unintended music or sound effects would burst in out of nowhere. This takes care of the one rather noticeable bug I encountered in Veilguard. It only happened once, but it was quite memorable: the intense battle music just wouldn’t stop, long after I’d defeated the foes. I ended up wandering around town for a solid 20 minutes with that tune still blaring. Eventually, I returned to the Lighthouse, and mercifully, the music finally stopped. I’m relieved I didn’t have to mute the whole soundtrack, though, because let me tell you, it’s stunning—crafted by the talented Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe.
The patch notes are packed with a variety of fixes, and while many of them address issues I haven’t faced, a couple are amusing, like “Rook’s body shape no longer changes unexpectedly after a cutscene with Emmrich” and “Adjusted an odd facial expression when Rook first meets Emmrich.” These gave me a chuckle, and I’m somewhat disappointed I didn’t get to witness them myself. It’s definitely worth perusing the complete list below to see if any bugs that bothered you have been addressed. I’m glad to see mine have been.
