Hello Trailblazers! It’s been a minute, and we’ve got some exciting news from the Honkai: Star Rail dev team. Prepare yourselves because version 2.7, titled “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn,” is set to hit on December 4. This release will wrap up our ongoing saga in Penacony as we gear up for the Astral Express’s next journey to the mysterious realm of Amphoreus, also known as the Eternal Land. This update serves as the final chapter before we dive into version 3.0 and kick off a brand-new storyline.
Let’s take a quick look back. In our last story arc, Black Swan advised the Crew to explore Amphoreus—an area so elusive even Akivili, the Aeon of the Trailblaze, couldn’t reach it. Always up for a challenge, Navigator Himeko decides to gather as much info as possible about this uncharted territory. Meanwhile, the Crew makes a pit stop in Penacony to reconnect with familiar faces and make some memorable goodbyes before they set off on their next thrilling adventure.
### Familiar Faces in the Limelight Again
Remember that unforgettable show at Penacony Grand Theater? Those memories are as fresh as yesterday. It wasn’t just the Astral Express coming to life; Mr. Sunday reemerged too! Stepping away from leading the Oak Family, he chose to “Descend to the mortal realm to see what this world is truly like.” For him, it’s about leaving behind the blessings of Harmony and Order to chase a vision of utopia as a mere mortal. Thanks to a secretive Pepeshi named Wonweek, Sunday returns to Penacony for a final, mesmerizing performance before embarking on a new journey. Cloaked in a robe and hood to disguise his identity, he gives his last dance under the lights of the Planet of Festivities.
Sunday comes in as a 5-star Imaginary character with unique support abilities. His Skill allows an ally to take immediate action, boosting their damage output. If the ally has a Summon, both can act instantly and further enhance the damage boost. His Ultimate helps regenerate Energy for an ally, transforming them and their Summon into “The Beatified”. This grants them increased CRIT DMG through a bestowed halo.
Another familiar face making their return is Fugue, also known as our old friend Tingyun. After a brush with Phantylia that left her clinging to life, Tingyun was saved by Madam Ruan Mei from the Genius Society, who breathed new life into her. As luck would have it, Himeko and Welt recently visited Madam Ruan Mei, deciding to bring Miss Tingyun back home, thus rekindling her journey.
Fugue is a 5-star Fire character who excels at supporting allies by reducing enemy Toughness, regardless of their Type Weaknesses. While she’s in play, adversaries get afflicted with the Cloudflame Luster state, which puts them at risk for Break DMG when it’s stripped away. Plus, when teammates attack those Weakness Broken adversaries, they deal Super Break DMG. Her Ultimate deals out Fire DMG to all enemies, ignoring Weakness Types to directly cut down Toughness.
And there’s more! 5-star characters General Jing Yuan and Firefly will be back during the first and second halves of the version 2.7 warp event, bringing along their robust support skills to aid all your future voyages.
