Hey there, Xbox enthusiasts! We’ve got some exciting news to share. Our newest game, Overthrown, is set to make its grand entrance on December 10 through Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and yes, it’s available with Game Pass. If you’re just hearing about Overthrown, let me catch you up. This isn’t your average city builder; it’s a wild ride of chaos where you get to unleash your inner anime superhero. What’s more, you can embark on this adventure with up to five friends. You’ll still need to construct your city, protect it from mutants and bandits, and keep it running smoothly. Today, I’m diving into how you can make the most out of your co-op experience.
Let’s set the stage a little. In Overthrown, an ancient, soul-stealing crown armed with magical powers grants you the ability to lift anything in sight. A massive tree? Consider it done. Monster nests? Even easier! You can even hoist up an entire sawmill and breeze through the forest, collecting trees as you go. Your strength is nearly limitless! Plus, you’ve got supersonic speed, a throw that history will remember, and a spin attack so powerful it can shoot you into the sky like a helicopter. Now, picture wielding this kind of might surrounded by five friends. The possibilities for mischief are endless, aren’t they?
I’m here with some tips to give you a leg up in your co-op escapades.
### One Crown to Rule Them All
In co-op mode, the Crown is up for grabs on the map, and you’d better be quick to snatch it first. While everyone gets the Crown’s powers, the wearer enjoys the most crown charge, allowing for speedier, slicker moves. Yes, you’re all collaborating, but why not aim to be the star team player? There may be moments when the mighty Crown is nabbed or misplaced—perfect for introducing some friendly rivalry. Enemies like Tuskars or Outlaws might claim it, and it’s on you and your friends to retrieve it. The one who manages to wrestle it back gets a power-up. Just to be clear, there’s no PvP in Overthrown, so don’t even think about offing your buddies for the Crown!
### Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Next, the more workstations you lay down in your city, the more citizens you’ll attract to your settlement. Team play means you can assign pals to various zones and districts to jump-start your citizen count right from the beginning. Everyone’s got their preferences, and not all jobs are loved equally. Maybe construction is your jam while your buddy craves combat—no problem! It’s easy to divvy up the tasks so everyone’s having a blast.
### Experiment
Finally, don’t shy away from experimenting. When we conceived Overthrown, it was heavily inspired by player curiosity. We want you and your crew to ponder, “Can I do this?” and “What happens if I try that?” The answers? “Yes, you absolutely can!” and “By all means, give it a shot!” We’re designing with interactive play at the core so you can savor moments of surprise, fun, and pure silliness. That’s the magic of gaming with friends!
We hope Overthrown sounds as thrilling to you as it does to us, and we can’t wait for you to dive in, whether flying solo or with pals. In the Game Preview phase, we’re shaping Overthrown hand-in-hand with community feedback and would love your input. Mark your calendars for December 5, as Overthrown launches on Xbox Game Preview and Game Pass for consoles and PC.
Note: We’ve updated the launch date from December 10 to December 5. See you there!
