Microsoft seems to be keeping a tight lid on any announcements about the long-rumored Xbox handheld, with indications suggesting we might not hear anything official until 2025. This speculation has been gaining momentum since Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming’s CEO, dropped some hints earlier this year.
This tidbit was shared during the Xbox Two podcast on YouTube, where journalist Jez Corden speculated about the possibility of a new Xbox gadget making its debut next year. He discussed whether we might see this hardware unveiled at the upcoming Game Awards but confidently stated there will be no hardware revelations at this year’s event in December 2024.
Corden said, “I don’t think you’re going to see hardware at The Game Awards, but I do think next year is a prime time to reveal new hardware. Especially something you could hold in the palm of your hand.” He also noted the potential for this hardware to be showcased at next year’s June showcase. However, it’s worth noting these are just rumors at this point, as Xbox hasn’t confirmed anything publicly.
