Earlier this year, Level-5 made a noteworthy comeback in Western gaming circles with the launch of Megaton Musashi W: Wired. Now, eight months later, they’ve rolled out a substantial patch for the game. Mark your calendars for November 26th if you’re keen to see the ‘Megarobo Batroseum’ update hit the Switch.
The freshly-released trailer—check it out above—highlights a brand-new online PvP mode aptly named ‘Megarobo Batroseum’. This feature lets you pick from a selection of preset mechs and dive straight into the fray. Whether you want to invite your friends or join a match using specific rules, the choice is yours—pretty cool, right?
In addition to that, you’ll find new Battle Royale and Team Battle modes designed for either intense one-on-one showdowns or chaotic free-for-alls. To give players an edge, there are shiny new in-game items to boost stats, and there’s the intriguing ‘Sengi’ system, which introduces unique abilities for each unit that you can charge up during combat.
But wait, there’s more! The ‘Megarobo Batroseum’ update doesn’t stop there. It also includes a set of brand-new stages and pilots. This latest roster of pilots can be utilized in certain story missions, online play, and of course, the new PvP mode itself.
While the trailer above showcases these additions, you can also peruse the full details of what’s new on the Megaton Musashi website if you prefer reading about it.
Our experience with Megaton Musashi W: Wired on the Switch was nothing short of thrilling when it first launched. In our review, we praised it as “a strong return to form for Level-5, packed with addictive mech-battling action that’s perhaps the most overlooked release of the year.”
So, have you had a chance to play this game yet? Is there something in the update that catches your eye? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
